ChatREP and ReviewREP are to be maintained by the API. However, GovernanceREP is to be minted along with ReviewREP, and GREP is to be maintained by a blockchain.

Therefore the review process will be managed by the API, off-chain, UNTIL a review has been completed. At some point after that time, GREP will be minted by an on-chain proposal, in proportion to the RREP. This requirement is captured in #9.

API

  • Upon receiving a review event, initiate an API-managed validation pool. This VP will accept ChatREP stakes for or against the review. If the VP passes, RREP is minted and awarded to the review, and thereby to its author.

UI

  • When viewing a post, provide a button or link to submit a review of that post.
  • On the review screen, accept an input for an amount of ChatREP to stake. This may be a fixed range, or it may be expressed as a fraction of the user's available ChatREP. Include this value in the event that is dispatched to the API.

This requires a validation pool to mint review rep.
